The vivid example of the modern approaches of teaching was the program of cooperation of Academy with Canada, initiated in 1998. The creation of the computer information network, which will unite Centers of Providing Assistance to HIV(AIDS)-infected in the North-West of Russia lays in the basis of the project. With the financial aid of the project, on the base of Academy the computer information center with the Internet access was created, with the help of which the modern information on both prophylaxis and treatment of HIV - associated infections and AIDS could be distributed within cities of North-West of Russia. The introduction of such technology of training and support of infectionists at their working places were impossible without carrying out the series of training seminars, which were organized in the Academy with participation of the Canadian experts. Already traditional, co-teaching with foreign colleagues has become the important detail of this project and once again confirmed high professional level of teachers and academic staff of the Academy. From the Russian side the Head of the project was Professor A.G. Rakhmanova, from Canadian - Professor William Flanaghan.
