The problem of teachers' training of the new generation is actual in all the
times. The present epoch presents great demand for people, who have undertaken
a serious wear to teach other people. If, even ten years ago there was a typewriter
on the desk of a high school teacher, and basic knowledge could be received
by brushing up periodicals in the library, on a boundary of centuries the situation
has changed radically. The enormous volume of information, which is availiable
through the Internet, required not only good computer skills, but also knowledge
of English. The last circumstance was also important for the selection of candidates
for training abroad, which would've been useless, if knowledge of foreign language
was only at the level of communication. This gaps were found out in the preparation
of the first program of the grant, complications of realization of which have
been already mentioned. The Administration of the Academy has met with the problem
of selection of worthy candidates, who, as potential teachers, on the one hand,
could suit the Academy, and, from the other side, be able to pass the interview
and written examination in English.
It was clear, that the expansion of international cooperation is impossible
without preliminary training. Its realization was initiated by the establishment
of the scholarship named after Professor E.E.Eihwald, who was the first Head
of the Institute of Improvement of the Physicians. The compulsory term for receiving
the scholarship was the knowledge of one of the foreign languages, and also
the performance of scientific work and ability to teach. So, step-by-step a
new category of the potential teachers has become to form, who can, after training
in the Academy and abroad, be a representatives of new generation, which could
work in the Academy.
