The College was organized in 1984 after reorganization of the College of
Internal Medicine was attributed, that put a great significance to fundamental
disciplines in system of postgraduate education. Originally the College consisted
of 11 Departments. Now it consists of 10 Departments, which are Clinical Laboratory
Diagnosis, Clinical Mycology, Immunology and Allergology, Clinical Physiology
and Function Diagnosis, Radial Diagnosis, Pathological Anatomy with a Course
of Cytology, Radiology with a course of Children's Radiology, Forensic Medicine
with a course of Material Evidences, Economy and Organization of Pharmaceutics
with a course of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology of Medical Specimens,
Medical Genetics, Marine and Medicine of Living.
The Dean of the College from the moment of its organization till 1996 was the
Doctor of Medical Science the Head of the Department of Forensic Medicine Professor
M.D. Mazurenko. In 1996 the Dean of the College was elected Professor V.L. Belyanin.
At the Departments of the College the qualified experts who have wide experience

members of Russian Academy of Medical Science, 16 Professors, among them 8 Head
of Departments.
During 5 years 17419 experts were trained at the College.
All Departments provide training at certified courses. Almost at all Departments
of the College the courses devoted to actual issues of medicine are permanently
held, as well as the postgraduate training of medical workers is organized.
Courses in other cities are organized and conducted regularly.
Much attention is paid to methodology of teaching. The test examination tasks
have been created and constantly improved, an interactive forms of training
are used widely. The computer quality control of knowledge is used widely. The
main peculiarity of the College is the presence of Departments, activity of
which is related to image analysis (the Departments of Radiology, Radial Diagnosis,
Pathological Anatomy, Forensic Medicine), in this connection at these Departments
a video databases has been formed and actively used in practice of training.
The training of interns, clinical interns, postgraduates including students
from other countries has been activated, that testifies to the high authority
of College's Departments. 65 clinical interns, 28 postgraduates, interns, including
from other states are trained now
The research work is intensively held at the College.
The international activity is carried out by 5 Departments (Clinical Laboratory
Diagnosis, Clinical Mycology, Radial Diagnosis, Clinical Physiology and Function
Diagnosis, Radiology with course of Children's Radiology), 1 grant was received,
the cooperation with foreign firms is actively developing. Many collaborators
of the College have passed probation research training abroad. At the College
F.Y. Chistovich's scholarship was established for encouragement of active scientific
and working activity of young experts, 1 staff member is Eihwald's scholarship
holder.
The College provides great help to Public Health organizations. At present
many collaborators of the College take positions of the main experts, Presidents
of different associations, members of the administration of medical and preventive
establishments.
