MD/Nursing Diploma Program
12-month, Intensive, English Language
The MD/Nursing Diploma English language program was designed for medical doctors
interested in ultimately entering hospital residency in the United States of America.
By earning the nursing diploma through MAPS, the MD will become eligible to take the
qualifying examination offered by the Commission for Graduates of Foreign Nursing
Schools (CGFNS) http://www.cgfns.org
The MAPS MD/Nurse Diploma Program has been officially evaluated by CGFNS and accepted
for it’s Certification Program. See below letter from CGFNS.
Nurses educated outside the US must take this examination, plus necessary English
tests, to earn a CGFNS certificate. The certificate permits the foreign educated nurse/MD
to obtain employment in the US, as a nurse.
Under the present US immigration laws, foreign educated nurses who earn their CGFNS
certificate, and obtain employment in the US as nurses, receive permanent work visas
to the US, commonly referred to as "green cards". Full and detailed information concerning
the “Practice Medicine in the USA” with a green card can be viewed at
www.mdnurse.com
Once the doctor moves to the US to work as a nurse, with his or her green card,
they can continue in their efforts to meet the certification requirements of the
Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG)
