Alexander P. Chtcherbo

The academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences since 2000; stands for members of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences in St. Petersburg Department of Education & Science Development in speciality: “Fundamental and Applied Problems of Medical and Biological Education and Science”.

A. P. Chtcherbo is the author of more then 200 printed works (39 were published after his election to the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences), including 12 methodical manuals, 5 collections of scientific works, 6 monographs and manuals; this year two monographs will be finished.

After his election to the Russian Academy of Natural Science one post-doctoral and two doctoral theses were defended under his supervision; now 5 post-doctoral and 8 doctoral theses are planned. These works are developed within the frames of three basic scientific fields, implemented by the Department of Medical Ecology:
Model developing of risk evaluation for health, stipulated by quality of surrounding environment;
Sanitary - epidemiological well-being of a family;

Hygienic questions of municipal wastage management.

Besides, under the control of A.P. Chtcherbo series of researches are carried out in the field of optimization of educational process management in educational institution; the work, devoted to modern questions of postgraduate medical education, is conducted.

A.P. Chtcherbo is the First Vice rector on Educational Activity of SPbMAPS, and the Head of the Department of Medical Ecology named after G.V. Kchlopin.

The honorable rank “The Honorable Worker of Higher School of the Russian Federation” was awarded to A.P. Chtcherbo in May, 1999
